welcome to the archive of the dandy queer art open 2021 (dqao), dandyqueerart.com’s first annual online art exhibition and competition open to every qualifying lgbtq+ artist who submitted work. we are incredibly stoked to announce that we received an overwhelmingly positive response, and ended up showcasing nearly 700 works from 152 queer artists of all different genders, sexualities, and backgrounds, from all over the world.

dqao timeline

opening weekend

Friday, September 10th
dqao galleries open at noon (pacific)

all submissions that have qualified for the official selection round (over 650 works) will be presented in individual artist galleries, before the official selections are announced.

exhibition week

Monday, September 13th through Friday, September 17th
official selections announced

252 selections have been chosen and will be released in no particular order in two galleries per day of 25 selections each (online at 9am and 2pm pacific) for four days, each qualifying artist will have at least one selection chosen.

recognition week
