Nelson Munares

Nelson Munares is a graphic artist working in Los Angeles and Palm Springs, California. He is originally from Lima, Peru, where he lived for forty years. In the last ten years, he has intensively explored the communicative power of digital art, and since he moved to Los Angeles in 2017, this practice has become a response to the social issues that he’s observed in American society, as well as a platform to celebrate his identity. Recently, he has developed several self-portraits where he explores body language and graphic parallels to ancient weaving techniques from his hometown.
