Nikki Orlowski’s art has come a long way from being focused on wildlife to shifting to the human experience and queer culture. In the last few years, coming out as transgender, they’ve witnessed a lot of bigotry and hate from outside of the LGBTQIA+ community. Their artwork focuses on the human male form usually in more intimate settings and poses traditionally reserved for the female figure in art. They like intertwining these forms that are traditionally considered masculine into a more feminine setting. Through their art, they question what we consider male, female, masculine, or feminine, and try to show that all are beautiful.
