Jörg Rautenberg
Jörg Rautenber has always been painting. His current style could be described as “expressionistic realism,” and the central focus of his work is men. He likes to make them up from nothing and put them in everyday situations, but he also likes painting men interacting in private, intimate scenes. He wants to stimulate the imagination of each viewer, so that everyone has their own mental cinema to enjoy. A special concern to him is to make relationships between men more visible not just in friendly situations but in erotic moments, too. Despite the importance of aesthetics, his work is socio-politically motivated. With his art he wants to convey that to differences are an enriching to the society, and can act as a way to open minds and help reduce homophobia.
