Based in New York, known for his realistic paintings and sculptures of Queer Punks, Fernando Carpaneda was one of the first Brazilian artists to exhibit homoerotic works in the 80s in Brazil. He usually uses three processes for the creation of the paintings: living model, drawing, and photography. He paints with acrylic on canvas. His recent exhibits include: "On Our Backs: The Revolutionary Art of Queer Sex Work" at Leslie Lohman Museum of Art, The Heckscher Museum (Long Island Biennial). His homoerotic sculptures can be seen in the film The Nearest Human Being, Directed by Marco Coppola, the film features actors Charlie Hofheimer, Natalia Dyer (Stranger Things).
