Your work in five words or less?
Slightly naughty to downright dirty.
What’s your personal kink?
There’s nothing like being shaved smooth and covered in oil. I love the look and feel of slick, slippery bodies writhing together- men and women. No holes barred. My sexual interests change almost weekly. One week I’ll only be able to think about big dicks doing what big dicks do. The next week I’ll just want giant beautiful tits and pretty pussies. I’ve heard it termed the “bi-cycle.” Certainly keeps my work interesting.
Turn-ons?
Being married to a wonderful woman who is not only perfectly fine with my bisexuality, but actually encourages me to make erotic art. I find the most joy in life being with my wife and child. Going to the park with them, going out for pizza, or just sitting down to watch a movie.
Turn-offs?
Folks that do not respect my time by keeping their appointments, and people who don’t do what they say they’re going to do.
Favorite subject?
Anything that turns me on. I like using my art to explore my bisexuality.
Ideal place to display your work?
I would love to have a snooty NYC wine and cheese art opening, or to see my work in gay clubs or bars. Maybe as a hand-painted mural.
Favorite non-art pastime?
It’s pretty mundane, but I love being outside mowing and trimming the grass, and tending to the garden.
Most memorable project?
I haven’t been creating erotic for very long, so I haven’t worked on many projects yet. I am definitely looking forward to seeing this project come to fruition.
Art crush?
My big art crush at the moment is Cesar Santos. In my other work I do a lot of portraits, and his “Old Masters” approach really speaks to me. Mostly he reminds me of the importance of being patient while painting-even on a deadline. It’s best to take time and paint correctly.
Personal crayon color?
Phthalo blue. Its a very strong, electric blue. If I could get that in a crayon id call it, “Pecker Vein Blue” because I use a tiny dab of Phthalo for some of the veining in my cocks.
What is unique about your process?
The goal of my erotic work is to get the viewer excited. I love the idea that viewing my work might make somebody horny and want to masturbate or have sex. I try to make the figures in my erotic oil paintings as realistic and sexy as possible, while avoiding being a slave to my reference so I’m not just copying photos.
Why make art?
I’ve actually tried to give up on it all together a few times but it didn’t take. I found myself doing it anyway. Any job I’ve ever had, no matter how easy or lucrative- after a week or so I’ve always thought, “This is bullshit, I should be painting,” so creating is what I’ve always done, and what I always come back to. The thought of going back to a factory or the warehouse to work, helps motivate me as well.
What’s next?
I’ve written an erotic short story, and I’m now working on illustrations. I have many, many more stories in various states of completion that come from my fantasies and experiences- many that I had while attending art college in New York City. Ultimately, I’d like to make single “pocket books” and then someday publish them all together as a hardcover.
