[dandy:] Your work in five words or less?
[McSpiky:] A depository of my daydreams.
What's your personal kink?
I do enjoy undergarments or swimwear. Briefs, speedos- maybe throw a wrestling singlet into the mix.
Turn ons?
Okay, not a turn-on in the literal sense, but I am a homebody about 80% of the time. So I do enjoy spending time with family and friends, preferably with some food and drinks involved.
Turn offs?
As much as I enjoy a good meal with the people I love, I absolutely cannot stand food noises. I also have an irrational intolerance for people asking me to decide what to eat. Why is everything I like and hate related to food? We'll never know.
Favorite subject?
I love the human subject. Portraits are my absolute favorite.
Ideal place to display your work?
I am pragmatic, so I like it if my artwork has some utility. Seeing my work in different everyday uses/spaces would make me so happy, like on t-shirts, mugs, wallpaper, furnishings. I am now wondering if I am a boring person.
Favorite non-art pastime?
Love to sing and dance because, you know... gay.
Most memorable project?
I primarily draw drag queens from RuPaul's Drag Race. I get very excited when any of my work is on merch. I cannot say that I am well-known for that, but it is still my favorite thing I've done with my work.
Art crush?
So many, and it might change from time to time. I should give Chadsell a shoutout, to me they are the OG drag race fan artist. I decided to start digital art because of seeing their work.
Personal crayon color?
Original-fried-chicken Orange- because I think I'm finger lookin' good.
What is unique about your process?
I spend a lot of time capturing things that are not immediately visually apparent. It can either be a feeling, a movement, an expression, or a moment in time. Capturing an "essence" in a piece is at the core of every part of my work- or I may have deluded myself into thinking so.
Why make art?
Art is truly something that I can immerse myself into for hours. I have a day job that is not necessarily creative in the traditional sense, so drawing fills the void- it relaxes me most days.
What's next?
DragCon LA 2022 so come see me. It will be my first convention so I am very nervous and excited. I cannot wait to finally put myself out there rather than being just a profile on Instagram.
